Aequitas Victoria Research Centre (AVRC), Bihar in collaboration with AVRC Centre for AI & Data Laws (AVRC-CAIDL) is organizing International AI & Law Conference (Online) on the topic “Navigating through the Implications of AI on Legal System” on 25th January, 2026.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The rapid proliferation of Artificial Intelligence across public and private spheres has compelled legal systems worldwide to reconsider their foundational doctrines and institutional practices. AI-enabled technologies are increasingly being deployed in diverse legal contexts—ranging from predictive policing, facial recognition surveillance, digital forensics, and risk assessment in sentencing, to automated contract drafting, algorithmic governance, and virtual courtrooms. While these innovations offer possibilities of efficiency, accuracy, and standardized decision-making, they also raise profound and unprecedented questions concerning human rights, civil liberties, and the core values of justice.
In democratic societies, the legal system is not merely a mechanism of dispute resolution but a guardian of constitutional morality, procedural fairness, and accountability. The integration of AI therefore necessitates a careful examination of whether technological decision-making aligns with fundamental legal principles such as presumption of innocence, right to fair trial, transparency in adjudication, and non-discrimination.
This conference seeks to create a platform for academicians, legal practitioners, technologists, policymakers, and researchers to engage in critical discourse on the opportunities, challenges, and future trajectories of AI within legal systems globally.
Thus, this International Conference aims at achieving this great objective through a multidisciplinary approach.
